Biography

Millicent is a Professor in the School of Business at the University of Wollongong. Her research spans the accounting and finance areas, and her work has appeared in leading academic journals including Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Pacific Basin Finance Journal, and Accounting & Finance. She is a Senior Editor at Global Finance Journal and an Editor at Accounting & Finance. She has previously received ARC Discovery funding for a project on late disclosure of trading by corporate insiders. Millicent is currently on the ARC’s College of Experts and was Australian President of AFAANZ from 2017 to 2019. Prior to joining UoW in 2018, she was an Associate Professor a t the UWA Business School

Biography

Julie is an Associate Professor in management accounting at the University of Auckland Business School. Her research interests are in the areas of performance and productivity measurement, revenue management practice, transfer pricing, and sustainability performance and reporting. Julie is currently on the editorial boards of the Australian Accounting Review and Meditari Accountancy Research and has been an editor of the Pacific Accounting Review. Julie is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA) and a Fellow Certified Management Accountant. Julie was also an education board member for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand

Prof David Hay

Biography

David Hay is the Professor of Auditing at the University of Auckland and a visiting Professor at Aalto University, Finland. David has had a substantial role in the publication of auditing research as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Auditing from 2014 to 2022 and as an editor of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. He is an author of more than 70 articles in refereed journals, books and book chapters. His research focuses on meta-analyses and literature reviews, and on research in the New Zealand and Finnish settings. He is a former winner of the “Notable Contribution to the Auditing Literature Award” presented by the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association. He was New Zealand President of AFAANZ in 2009-2011. David is a member of the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.

Elinor Kasapidis is the Interim Chief Learning and Innovation Officer at CPA Australia. Her portfolio includes the CPA Program, accreditation, CPD, conferences, content, research, advocacy, and professional standards. She is the Secretariat for the CPA Australia Professional Education Advisory Panel, steers the CPA Australia Global Research Perspectives Program and is responsible for commissioned research and thought leadership. Prior to joining CPA Australia, Elinor’s research roles included Senior Director of Economic Research and Senior Director of Tax Gap Estimation at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)." Picture

Biography

Dr Keith Kendall is the Chair of the Australian Accounting Standards Board. Immediately prior to this role he served as a Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and during the previous 25 years has also been a Partner at Rigby Cooke Lawyers as well as working as an academic at Monash and La Trobe Universities and ten years with Deloitte. This experience across accounting, taxation, business law and government bring a well-rounded perspective to the AASB’s projects and strategic direction.

Misha Pieters

Biography

Misha heads the team that develops and issues auditing and assurance standards for New Zealand. Misha has been with the XRB from its establishment in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience in audit and assurance standard setting. She is currently the technical Advisor to the New Zealand member on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and previously completed a secondment with the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants. Prior to joining the XRB, she worked for KPMG, in both New Zealand and South Africa, providing assurance and technical advisory services, specialising in IFRS implementation and interpretation.
