Biography

Simon is a Partner in EY’s Auckland office with over 30 years experience in audit and related services. Simon started his career in London in 1988 and after spells working on projects in Hungary and Greece moved to New Zealand in 1994. Simon acts as EY’s professional practice director for the New Zealand practice and so is involved in numerous complex accounting and auditing matters. He is a previous board member of Ernst & Young New Zealand and Oceania and past chair of the Auckland branch of New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Biography

Peter has been a Partner with Deloitte for 20 years, and has 30 years of experience as an auditor operating in both the listed company space and in the public sector as an Appointed Auditor on behalf of the Auditor General. Peter is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Deloitte, and was the Managing Partner of the firm’s Audit business for 9 years through to 2020. In his current role Peter has executive responsibility for Deloitte’s business support functions including talent, finance, IT, risk, and legal. He also continues to operate as a licensed auditor and is the firm’s Director of Independence.

Biography

Darby Healey heads Audit Quality and Risk for KPMG. She has been with KPMG since 1997 both here and in the US and is a client facing auditor as well as leading the audit quality team, the technical team and being a member of the KPMG Board. She is a member of both CAANZ and CPA Australia and holds a Fellow of CPA designation (FCPA).

Rick is the Regional Head for CPA Australia, overseeing operations in New Zealand, the South Pacific, ACT, Tasmania and Europe. Rick has been with CPA Australia for 13 years, having held key roles in Business Development and the role of New Zealand Country Head from 2017-2023.

Biography

Karen is the Chief Risk & Reputation Officer of PwC New Zealand and a member of their Executive leadership team. Karen has been a Partner at PwC for over 20 years. Karen is a licensed auditor and a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She is also a Global Women member. Karen leads our Risk & Quality teams and provides expert advice to PwC’s teams on conflict identification and management, reputational considerations and all things regulatory. Karen’s career highlights and milestones include: • being the first female audit partner in PwC New Zealand in 2003 • establishing an independent Audit Advisory Board to PwC New Zealand – the first for any firm in New Zealand • publishing the first Audit Quality Transparency Report in New Zealand in 2020 • 10 years on the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board
