Biography

Dr Bobe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at Deakin Business School. With extensive teaching experience in tertiary institutions across Africa, the UK, and Australia, Dr Bobe brings a wealth of knowledge to both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching portfolio covers a wide range of accounting subjects, with a primary focus on management accounting. He is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Dr Bobe's primary research interests lie in management accounting, specifically in management control systems and performance management systems. Recently, he has developed a keen interest in the role of management accounting education and practice in the advancement of sustainability and the circular economy. His research also encompasses accounting education, public sector accounting, and accounting in developing countries. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Bobe has significant practical experience, having worked as a tax accountant, auditor, finance manager, and financial controller in both private and public sectors across various countries. Dr. Bobe is a full member of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the ACCA.

Biography

David is currently Director of Online Programs at the AGSM @ UNSW Business School, and has over twenty years of experience in the higher education sector. He has taught and researched in areas of financial reporting, taxation, sports management, analytics and accounting education. He has published in journals including British Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Issues in Accounting Education, and has previously held editorial roles at Accounting & Finance and Accounting Education. He currently sits on a number of boards including the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand, The Tax Institute Higher Education (TTIHE), Women Sport Australia and Sydney Rugby Union. He is also the Chair of Academic Board at TTIHE. He has previously held the position of Academic Fellow at the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation in London and been awarded an Australian Government Office of Learning & Teaching Citation.

Biography

June is a senior lecturer in accounting. June’s core research focus is the burgeoning areas such as carbon accounting, carbon disclosure/assurance, green innovations, ESG/CSR, and the cutting edge of sustainability reporting and green supply chain management. Her commitment to research excellence is evidenced by high-quality impactful research outputs published in A*/A/Q1 journals such as the British Accounting Review, Energy Economics, Journal of International Accounting Research, International Journal of Auditing, Journal of Accounting Literature, Accounting and Finance, Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Financial Stability, and among others. Her research performance and teaching excellence have been recognized by several prestigious research and teaching accolades. She is a member of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, and AFAANZ Technical Committee, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an associate fellow of Curtin Academy. She is also an accredited PREP reviewer and FHEA assessor/mentor. She is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Accounting Literature and the lead guest editor of the Pacific Accounting Review.

Biography

Ellie has over 30 years’ experience as a teaching and research academic in Australian business and law schools, primarily focusing on corporate regulation as it applies to accounting students and commercial transactions. She has taught and researched in the areas of insolvency, commercial law, corporate law, corporate governance, CSR, diversity, forensic accounting and auditing and has supervised over 30 research students in these areas. She has published the results of her research in journal articles in top ranked journals in accounting, auditing, finance and commercial law. Her research approach favours “cross disciplinary” research, that is, combining skills and methodologies from the accounting and commercial law disciplines to inform corporate disclosure, reporting regulation and policy, including sustainability. Ellie is an assessor for the Australian Research Council Discovery Research Grant programme and is an academic member of the Australian Institute of Criminology Human Trafficking & Modern Slavery Research Program.
