Intelligent Financial Analysis and Visualization: Curriculum, Delivery Methods, and Student Satisfaction

Abstract

"In response to the evolving landscape of digital technologies and their impact on the field of accounting, numerous Chinese universities have embarked on curriculum reforms aimed at introducing ""Intelligent Accounting"" programs. These initiatives have led to the emergence of innovative interdisciplinary subjects, blending accounting principles with cutting-edge information technology applications. This paper delves into the conception and implementation of one such subject titled ""Intelligent Financial Analysis Visualization,"" a course that seamlessly integrates Business Intelligence (BI) with financial analysis. The subject has been successfully offered at a large Chinese business university for two years.
Analysis of student questionnaire surveys reveals that this innovative subject has significantly enhanced the ability of accounting students to utilize business intelligence tools in financial analysis. Moreover, it has finely tuned their practical data analysis skills, aligning them with industry demands. Key elements of the Technology Adoption Model (TAM), such as perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, along with self-efficacy, positively influence students' motivation to engage with the new subject, ultimately boosting their overall learning satisfaction. This paper not only provides valuable insights but also shares practical experiences, serving as a valuable resource for accounting educators aiming to design courses tailored to the challenges and opportunities presented by the era of big data."
