Biography

Katie has been in the Responsible Investment industry for almost 20 years, with the first part of her career spent overseas, predominantly in the UK. After returning to New Zealand in 2015, she spent 6 years with the New Zealand Super Fund and then moved to become the Head of ESG at Forsyth Barr in 2021. Amongst other things, Katie currently serves as the Deputy Chair of the NZ National Advisory Board for Impact Investing, is a member of New Zealand’s Stewardship Code Governing Committee, is part of the External Reporting Board’s Stakeholder Advisory Panel and is also on the Investment Committee for NZ impact investor, Purpose Capital.

Biography

John is committed to making ethical investment accessible to all NZ investors. Before co-founding Pathfinder in 2009 John worked in law firms and investment banks in Auckland, London and Sydney. He has a BCom/LLB(Hons) from Auckland University. In 2023 John was awarded as the Sustainable Business Networks Sustainability Superstar.

The panel will also reflect on the role that standard setting has on meeting investor information needs, and the areas where research could help standard setters to respond to changing investor information needs.

Biography

"Charis Halliday is the Director - International at the Australian Accounting Standards Board supporting international presence and relationships. Her experience includes accounting standard setting in New Zealand as the External Reporting Board's Technical Director of Accounting Standards. During her time in a Big 4 financial accounting advisory role, she provided technical accounting advice in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, working with CFOs and their finance teams to help them through complex financial accounting and reporting issues, driven largely by accounting change or transactions. "

Biography

Dr Eric Lee has almost 20 years of experience across academia, Big Four accounting firms, policy-making and standard-setting roles. He is currently serving as the head of research at the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB). He is a member of CPA Australia and CAANZ. He is also an FSA Credential Holder and GRI Certified Sustainability Professional.

Biography

Jonathan is passionate about adding value to boards and executives by bringing relevant experience and insights to the table. Jonathan is the leader of PwC's Sustainability Reporting and Assurance team assisting clients with how to get the most value from sustainability reporting. As part of this, he provides assurance on non-financial information, including greenhouse gas emissions. He has detailed knowledge of the Climate Related Disclosures in New Zealand and how clients can apply these new standards to their company’s reporting. During his 29-plus years in PwC’s Assurance team, including more than 19 years as a partner, he has led the audits of a number of publicly-listed and private companies. Jonathan brings a strong strategic and commercial perspective to his work, having spent three years in London working within PwC's Financial Due Diligence and Transaction Services team
