Biography

Jules Congalton is an experienced information specialist with a strong track record in developing and implementing digital and information strategy. With expertise in business change, Jules is skilled in implementing data quality frameworks and quality assurance of information management systems. Recently, he has been leading asset management related improvements in the utilities industry. Currently, Jules is focused on developing and implementing Asset Management Digital and Information Strategies that enable innovative organizations to become industry leaders in asset management. He has played a key role in helping organisations implement their ISO 55001 compliant asset management system and has been responsible for optimising and ensuring its ongoing compliance to ISO 55001. Jules has an extensive background in information technology and has worked in various roles for over 25 years. In 2014, he completed a PhD in Information Systems, examining the impact of diversity in software development teams. He is a Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) and chairs the New Zealand Asset Information Managers’ Forum for the Electricity Engineers’ Association. Jules is a published author and has presented at conferences on various asset information topics. He has also lectured at Massey University's School of Management. In 2020, Jules delivered a TEDx talk on the changing energy landscape and how emerging technologies could make a profound difference in society. Jules is a co-founder of DataFrame, which offers asset information governance as a service. DataFrame uses data quality analytics to identify information quality gaps that will impact an organisation achieving its current and future objectives.
